Greetings!

 You and I are privileged to live in one of the most amazing times in human history. Diane and I are honored to be on the same team as you as we seek to bring God’s kingdom to earth.

It’s been a couple of years since we sent our last update, and we are about to enter the most significant transition of our lives! As such we felt it was important to communicate our “new beginnings” with our larger circle of family and friends.  PLEASE NOTE: …This is a long email. If you don’t have time to read the whole thing, we encourage you to skip to the bullet points at the bottom for a shorter summary.

Our Ministry Over the Last Few Years

Four years ago, after 33 years of non-stop ministry in the city of San Francisco, we moved to Redding, California to begin a new chapter in our lives. This move was a great surprise to us because we thought we would be ministering in the city for the rest of our lives – but God had a different plan.

After settling in Redding, we began a season of decompression to recover from three decades of intense ministry in one of the most challenging cities on earth. During this time, I (Michael) began to work half time for a ministry called Global Legacy – the church networking organization of Bethel Church. As part of my role, I led a team to design and develop a comprehensive church coaching system based on my years of experience as an Area and District Overseer for the Vineyard Movement. We were able to prototype this new coaching method with over thirty churches. This work became the foundation for some of the steps we are about to take.

At the same time, I also started working part time with Jesus Culture, a phenomenal ministry dedicated to “raising a generation of revivalists that will shape culture and transform nations”. My responsibilities included creating and developing the EMERGE Curriculum that is now being used in over 600 churches. I was also tasked with designing and developing “The Culture Project: a forty year mentoring strategy to raise up emerging leaders for all spheres of society.” I eventually discontinued my work with Global Legacy to serve full time with Jesus Culture and I’ve been there ever since.

In addition to all this I published two books. The first is Revival Culture: Prepare for the Next Great Awakening, co-authored by Banning Liebscher, the director of Jesus Culture. This book also includes an amazing chapter written by Bill Johnson. The second is Destiny Finder – a fresh approach to identifying your gifts and calling in the Lord. We also launched www.destinyfinder.com that provides a number of spiritual gift tests and discovery tools designed to help you fulfill God’s purpose in life.  We’ve also been teaching regularly at BSSM, and traveling extensively, speaking at conferences and coaching churches around the world. We’re still working with the church we pastored for so many years in the city, now called REVIVE San Francisco, under the leadership of Jake and Amber Winslow.

Our New Ministry Transition into the Future: A Big Step of Faith.

About a year ago, Banning received guidance from God to relocate Jesus Culture and plant a new church in the city of Sacramento. We felt that we were supposed to stay in Redding. This led to our transition off of Jesus Culture staff and into this new season we are about to enter. We remain great friends with Banning and the Jesus Culture team, and will continue to serve in an advisory role from time to time.

OUR BIG NEWS!

Beginning in August 2014, we are stepping out in faith to build a new ministry that will continue the work we began while working at Global Legacy and Jesus Culture. Here are some of the distinct dimensions of this new ministry.

• Coaching Pastors, Leaders and Marketplace Ministers
• Consulting Churches, Ministries and Organizations
• Teaching Around the world in Conferences and Ministry Schools
• Supporting Church Planters and Ministry Entrepreneurs
• Providing Oversight for the Revive Movement in the Bay Area

This ministry builds upon the foundation we have laid over the course of 35 years of ministry in which we enjoyed seasons of great fruitfulness and overcame other seasons of challenging difficulties. We believe our experience will greatly benefit to others. 

The primary difference is that we will no longer have a secure, predictable salary and instead will be relying on gifts and honoraria to sustain our family.

In order to support this new ministry, we are building three amazing websites that will equip and empower individual believers, leaders and churches.

• We are launching http://www.pastorscoach.com: A comprehensive coaching and training system to empower pastors to create thriving congregations and prepare the Church for the coming harvest. This site will provide assessment, teaching, and resources with contributions from key leaders around the Body of Christ. (Launching mid-September 2014)

• We will continue to develop http://www.destinyfinder.com: A practical approach to discover and develop God’s calling on your life. This site will be a key feature of PastorsCoach.com to help pastors motivate and mobilize their members for ministry. It will also be accessible by individuals directly. • We are building http://www.Michaelbrodeur.com: Empowering Leaders for Ministry and Marketplace. This site will be our personal ministry site with regular blogs, event information and book sales. Join our free membership and receive a few points of input every week to help you bring God’s blessings to your world.This site can also receive tax-deductible donations to our personal ministry through our non-profit organization called Revival Generation Ministries.
